Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.
Volunteers are the driving force behind foodbanks. There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Trust Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis. We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis.

Volunteer for our foodbank centres:
Join our team in providing direct, compassionate support to people visiting the foodbank. Volunteers help prepare food parcels, offer a warm welcome, and signpost clients to additional support services.
What you’ll do
- Greet clients and make them feel comfortable
- Check voucher validity and pack food parcels
- Provide refreshments and keep the centre tidy
- Listen to clients and offer signposting information
What we’re looking for
- A strong team player with good communication skills
- Self‑motivated and committed to supporting the community
